These are a pair of patches that Nodling released because Ultima 6’s built-in MT-32 sound driver does not correctly output music on faster systems. The MPU-401 patch works with the standard MIDI interface on most systems, whereas the SoundBlaster patch actually adds compatibility with SoundBlaster to the game; the game doesn’t support that sound technology by default.
